Aux Sable Grove Cemetery
The Will County Ghost Hunters Society has been investigating Aux Sable Grove Cemetery for the past five years. August 30, 2009 the WCGHS conducted an investigation at the location.
Aux Sable Grove Cemetery has it’s share of ghost stories associated with it. The most common phenomena reported here is the report of a shadow person. In general, most people do not feel threatened by it. Usually it is seen off in the distance darting between headstones and trees. Many describe it as being curious. Many people have also heard voices in the cemetery while visiting. Most of the time the voices can not be understood. However, on some occasions they seem to be calling out the visitors names. While visiting here, extreme cold spots are not uncommon.

Dan Jungles- Lead Investigator
After arriving in the cemetery, Dan did a walk through of the location to familiarize himself with any changes that may have taken place, since the last time the WCGHS investigated the location. It was quickly noted that one of the gravesites that the WCGHS often visits and has recorded EVPs at, has had a recent burial immediately to its left. There seemed to be a high volume of bugs as well, this will be important to note when reviewing the still photos and video, as these may play a role.
Review of Data
Collectively the WCGHS recorded a total of 2 hours, 1 minutes, and 2 seconds of audio. There was no evidence of any paranormal activity on the recordings.
The WCGHS did not record any video during the course of this investigation.
Collectively the WCGHS took a total of 115 photos. There were several photos containing orbs. These were determined to be dust and bugs. There were no photos that were determined to be paranormal in nature.
The smell of freshly cut flowers was present in the southwest corner of the cemetery. The smell lingered for only a minute or two. Upon investigating the smell, there was no source that could be found.
There were no significant temperature fluctuations that were detected.
During the course of our investigation the readings fluctuated between .01 to .04 milligauss. These fluctuations are consider to be in the normal and not paranormal in nature.
Aux Sable Grove Cemetery has been an active location for paranormal activity for years. The detection of the fragrance of flowers, and its quick dissipation lends credence to previous reports of similar brief and undetectable smells. As quickly as the smell was detected it seemed to disappear. Although, we did not gather any evidence of paranormal activity, it is believe that there does not seem to be any decrease in the occurrences of paranormal activity. The new burial next to the location of a gravesite that we have previously recorded paranormal activity is almost certain to escalate said activity. Most likely continue for many years to come. The WCGHS plans on returning to the location some time in the future for further investigations.
